When you think of country clubs you usually think of stuffy rooms, with whispered conversations and business deals happening on the sly. Not so with The Edge! It is home to the best combination of entertainment: Weddings and Banquets, Golf, Dining and a Pool, sure. But, what about “Murder Mystery Theater,” Night Golfing and FAB! And what would an Edgewood summer be without spending the 4th of July at the Edge.

Led by General Manager and former FAB! award winner, Kris Sandman, there’s nothing stuffy about The Edge. Originally established in Carmel in 1930, Edgewood Golf and Dining, open to the public, is beautifully situated in the winding, tree lined neighborhood that shares its name. The Edge, as a company, expanded further by adding The Edge Barn in Noblesville offering more event hosting, planning and catering.

Why here in Madison County? “At the beginning, I chose The Edge because it was available and it was close to home. Today, after all we’ve been through together, how could I not be a part of something that has turned the corner, something we all are proud of?”

What are your goals for 2015? “To continue to improve the course and to continue to attract more outings. We are one of the very few places to provide quality entertainment and events on the west side of Anderson. Another item on our 2015 agenda is to increase our fine dining options.”

Why are you in this business? “I like rehabbing and improving things. A business of this size with its variety of entertainment offerings always has something needing to be done.”

Who do you consider the most courageous person in history and why? “Jesus Christ. He had to face a humiliating death and knew it in advance, and yet still approached it as a human.”

If you were to take that person on a tour of your business, what one thing would you want them to see? “I would take Him out on the golf course and ask Him, ‘what was your Father thinking when he created crab grass?’”

What was the defining moment when you knew your business was making a difference? “When two different realtors said the home values in Edgewood were stabilizing and in some cases going up because of the rehab done to the facility.”
